Folk Around and Find Out by Penny Reid

Image
Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Penny Reid for sending me an e-arc of this book to read and review! I had the opportunity to review an arc of  Totally Folked , book one in this series, last year and was so excited to receive the continuation! I am a big Penny Reid fan :) So excited to be back in Green Valley! I love this small town and have been anxiously awaiting this release. Penny Reid sets you up with wonderful characters - in this case Charlotte and Hank - who have the best intentions but tend to find themselves in messy or unexpected situations.  Charlotte is a single mom who is viewed through a heavy lens of pity by most of the town because her husband ran off with a stripper, leaving her with four children. Hank owns the strip club and is rejected by the polite society that has enveloped Charlotte in their hold. He assumes she feels the same as the rest of the town, but when she shows up to ask him for a job he’s not sure how to take it. Charlotte and Hank...

5 Star Reads of 2022 (so far)

Well we've made it through six months of the year, and I thought now would be a good time to share my top reads of the year so far.  Below are my 5 star reads from the past six months.  Some are re-reads, some are new to me, all were amazing!  If you would like to follow along with my reading progress, don't be shy - let's connect on Goodreads ! 5 Star Reads: January - June 2022 1. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne I loved the interplay between the characters, and the office enemies-to-lovers was such a good setting.  Very well done with  lovable  characters, amazing details, and a twist that made my heart go pitter-patter! 2. The Brown Sisters trilogy by Talia Hibbert For the sake of saving space, I'll lump all three together, but make no mistake - each of these books was a five star read on  its  own.  I've re-read them all, and will do so again; they are among my all-time favorites.   The first book, Get a Life, Chloe Brown, feat...

Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend by Penny Reid

Image
Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Penny Reid for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review!  This review can also be found on my Goodreads , and all opinions are my honest thoughts on the book. Photo from my bookstagram - @bookworminkayla As a best-selling fiction author, Byron is stand-offish with no social media presence and as little public appearances as he could contractually get away with.  On the other hand, Winnie is a science teacher who shares her love of STEM on multiple social media accounts and thrives when surrounded by people.   These two should not fit, and yet their chemistry is strong.   But their differences are too big to overcome… until the idea of faking a friends-to-lovers relationship on social media comes with too many benefits to turn down.  My most recent 5 ⭐️ read, Ten Trends to Seduce Your Bestfriend is the enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, kickass woman in STEM romance you need in your life!   Byron and Wi...

Actress Raquel Ezra finds herself in small town Green Valley, Tennessee, for the second time since her friend Sienna’s wedding there five years prior.  And just like last time, one man keeps catching her eye… a certain sheriff’s deputy, Jackson James.
