Scrooging Christmas by Sarah Ready

 Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Sarah Ready for including me in the blog tour for the newest Soulmates in Romeo romance! I am a big fan of this series and was so excited for another installment!


While I do love Christmastime, and though the temperature in my part of the world is quickly dropping to 'hibernation with hot chocolate, warm blankets, and a good book' levels of cold, it's a little early to feel too festive. Nonetheless, I could relate to Natalie in her quest to bring extreme levels of Christmas cheer - I love the joy of the holiday season. At the same time, Gabe Scrooge-ness seems perfectly reasonable to me; I'm a person who doesn't like the cold and with the aforementioned dropping temps, I'm getting grumpy. It's a balancing act... and that's really the lesson of this romance.

Sarah Ready's soulmate stories give me all the warm fuzzies. Though some of the set-ups are not quite so relatable, Ready makes it easy to believe a soulmate is out there for everyone. If the scroogiest Scrooge to ever be scrooged (and try explaining that sentence to someone who hasn't read this story) can have a soulmate, everyone can have a soulmate. Though her characters often meet in unconventional ways, they are funny and relatable. I enjoyed reading all the hijinks Natalie and Gabe get up to and am once again more than happy with the latest Soulmates in Romeo.


All she needs is Christmastime.

Reluctantly Yours by Erin Hawkins

 Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Erin Hawkins for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review!  As always, this review is my honest opinion and can be found on my Goodreads profile as well as this blog. This story is great and the chemistry between Barrett and Chloe is a delight!  Enemies-to-lovers and fake dating are always a great combination of tropes and Erin Hawkins writes them very well. Even when we as readers have an inkling or two of how this is going to turn out in the end (it is a romance, after all), it feels fresh and exciting as we get to know the characters, their motivations, and the personalities that make them click so well.   I am a big character-driven reader and I really enjoyed reading both Chloe and Barrett's perspectives.  These character have dimensions that lend more  to  the story than just the romance, while also being delightfully attracted to each other and keeping the romance part of the book  adeq...
