The Binding by L. Filloon

I am totally obsessed with The Binding.  Ever since Christmas, when I got my Kindle, I've been reading a lot more books, but I forget to blog about them!  That's what happened with The Binding.  I've read it at least five times, and I think I like it better than Harry Potter.  "Gasp!"  The Binding is a story about Lily Michaels and Tharin Lunar.  Lily doesn't know it, but she's about to discover that she's part elf.  Two nights after her eighteenth birthday, Lily is going for a run when she is knocked over by a stranger, who just saved her from being hit by an arrow.  When Lily sees who's shooting at her, she can't believe it.  It's her brother, and he disappeared four years ago.  The stranger deflects all the arrows and gets rid of her brother, Lucas, but not before he shoots an arrow straight at Lily that the stranger can't reach.  Lily knows she's going to die, but she doesn't care.  She just lost her brother, again.  But right before the arrow hits, a voice in the woods says "Burn" and the arrow turns to ash.  Another stranger identical to the first one is standing in the woods, and behind him is a huge black nothing.  Lily is so scared of the "nothing" that she passes out.  When she wakes up she's in her foster mother's house with the first stranger and only knows that he killed her brother.  After trying, and failing, to attack him, she sits down and cries, until a giant black cat comes out of nowhere and scares her half to death.  During the comical and slightly embarrassing scene that follows, she finds out that the first stranger's name is Tharin, the second stranger's name is Tolan, they are twins, and they are elvish princes come to get Lily so she can marry Tharin, who doesn't want to marry her, oh, and she's and elf princess of the second most powerful clan in Velesi, wherever that is.  Yeah right.  After some convincing, Lily is forced to go with them, but she only agrees if they bring her best friend Julia.  On the way to Velesi, Lily, Tharin, Tolan, Julia, and several of the elf princes' cousins run into trouble from... Lucas?  If they make it to Velesi finally, will Lily stay and marry Tharin and save Velesi?  Or will she try and save her brother and return to her home?  And what about Julia?  Because somewhere along the way, Lily's best friend might have fallen in love with an elf.
