Finally by Wendy Mass

This is the second book in the "Birthdays" series by Wendy Mass.  Or maybe it's less of a series and more a bunch of spin-off books??  I'll call it a series for now.
The first book is 11 Birthdays.  Now we have Finally, which is about a girl who is finally turning twelve.  All her life, Rory has been told by her parents "you can do this when you're twelve" or "you can get that when you're twelve".  When you're twelve, when you're twelve.
Now the time has come, and Rory is turning twelve.  And she has a long list of stuff to check off.  Get a pet.  Shave her legs.  Get a cell phone.  Replace her glasses with contacts.  Pierce her ears.  Etc., etc.  The timing is perfect, because a movie is being filmed at Rory's school and the director is looking for students to be extras.  When Rory is chosen to be in the film, she and her friend decide to cross off one thing on her list.  Shaving her legs.  While shopping, they buy all sorts of things.  Then Rory's friend has to leave and quickly grabs something to shave with on her way out, so Rory is left alone with the razor method, or the wax method.  After trying both, Rory's legs are decidedly mangled.  Unfortunately, her friend had grabbed the easy stuff, put on and wait five minutes before wiping off.  Rory couldn't have been so lucky.
Throughout the book, Rory has more disasters while crossing stuff off her list.  Her parents want to buy her a cell phone with two buttons, one for calling home and one for calling 911.  When she tries to get her contacts out, she scrapes her eye in the process and has to wear an eye patch for a while. Her new pet bunny, named Kyle R., tried to kill her.  Try saying Kyle R. three times fast.  It sounds a bit like Killer.  Great.  She's allergic to the earrings she got, so one of her ears swelled up.  Meanwhile, even though Rory's life isn't going very well, she manages to help plenty of people on her way to being twelve.
Will some things finally go right in Rory's life?
