Say It Like You Mane It by Erin Nicholas

Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Erin Nicholas for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review!  All thoughts are my own, honest opinions.

Caroline Holland has just left her surprise wedding and arrived in Autre, Louisiana, with a lion cub she was gifted by her ex-fiancee.  Unfortunately for Zander Landry, who prefers things as safe and quiet as possible in his town, this heiress needs the help Zander and his connections to help take down the animal trading ring she suspects her brother, father, and ex might be involved in.  As he learns more about Caroline, Zander knows she is his soulmate... so of course he wants her out of town as fast as possible.  But she's determined to stay until she knows the lion cub and other helpless animals will be dealt with.  While Zander tries to keep her safe, Caroline is determined to get her hands dirty... and she'd like Zander's help.

Okay, a slight disclaimer to this review - I'm obsessed with the Boys of the Bayou and Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series from this author.  So I may have, in each of my previous reviews, said something along the lines of "this book is definitely my favorite in the series."  That is not my fault.  All of these books are amazing and I swear each one is my new favorite, for similar as well as different reasons.  Those reasons  are as follows.

1: I love the way Erin Nicholas writes.  The family is big and loud, the love is strong, the chemistry is amazing, and I really wish it were possible to visit Autre, Louisiana, and hang out with the Landry's and Co.  Her descriptions are so vivid that I feel like I'm there when I read these stories, and I love that!

2: The characters are an amazing mix of relatable, lovable, and fictional.  Caroline's determination to do the right thing is so admirable, and reading her journey to discovering her place in the world in this book makes me feel like I could rescue lion cubs and bring down animal traders too!  And Zander's fierce protectiveness is something I relate so strongly to.  Combine these two characters and they are complimentary puzzle pieces that just click so perfectly.  I alternated between wanting a Zander of my own and wanting to sigh at how well Caroline and Zander fit, basically bouncing on my toes as I waited for the moment they inevitably fell in love.

3: This series twines so smoothly from one story to the next that you know all of the characters in each book, and when you meet a new character you can't wait to read their story.  Zander was introduced quite a few books back, and you get a sense for his character throughout the series.  But finally reading a story through his perspective really emphasizes his lovable characteristics... as well as his flaws.  And while Caroline is a newcomer, she fits in seamlessly to the Landry way of life, and having her perspective for that transformation made me so smiley.  I love when a newcomer finds their home in this fictional place - even while I'm a little jealous!

Essentially, as with all of these books, I really loved the character dynamics and sweet romance of Say It Like You Mane It.  I definitely recommend this series, especially if you love a small(ish)-town setting for your romances, are a fan of animals, and occasionally get the urge to find yourself a hot cop to fall in love with.  You won't regret reading!

She’s stunning, whip-smart, and trouble with a capital T.

Say It Like You Mane It, a brand-new, small town romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas, is now available!

What happens when a hellraiser turned hot cop is stuck with a headstrong heiress he’s determined to protect...and resist?

A run-away bride, wearing a freakin’ tiara, and carrying a stolen lion cub, of all things. This was not how rowdy, bad-boy-turned-small-town-cop, Zander Landry expected his day to go.

He really didn’t expect his night to end with her sleeping in his bed after her near-kidnapping.

But his intense attraction to her and the feelings of protectiveness she stirs up? Oh, yeah, he knew those were coming.

She’s stunning, whip-smart, and trouble with a capital T.

Which means, he needs her to head right back the way she came. ASAP.

His town is exactly the way he wants it . . . crazy and trouble free.

Well, the crazy trouble he’s not related to anyway.

Stranded in a tiny town in her half-million-dollar wedding gown with no money and no place to go . . . today is going pretty much exactly the way Caroline Holland expected it to.

But the grumpy, tattooed, oh-my-god hot cop being the answer to all her problems isn’t at all what she expected.

Now that she’s turned all the criminal (and obnoxious) info about her exotic-animal-dealing ex-fiance over to Zander, she can kick back in a hammock with some sweet tea and relax.

Or not.

Turns out Caroline’s not the spoiled heiress Zander thinks she is. The gorgeous hellion wants in on the action and soon discovers just how dirty things can get in the bayou. And the bedroom.

More and more, Zander just wants her safe on the sidelines. But Caroline isn’t going anywhere until justice is done.

It’s a clash of wills that’s gonna get hotter than a crawfish boil in July. And the most fun the Landry family has had watching sparks fly since . . . well, the last book.
