Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

I just finished reading all the books that I know of that are in this series, which is 7 total, and I loved them!! Artemis Fowl is a criminal mastermind, and he's only, like, 12!  During one of his schemes, Artemis captures a fairy, or to be more specific, a LEP recon (Leprechaun, get it?) officer, the only female officer in the whole underground fairy world.  A kidnapped fairy is no joke, and Artemis Fowl is the most wanted criminal in fairyland, which is all high-tech and top secret, not sugar plumbs and candy land.  Going up against the best officers in the LEP, Artemis proves just how smart he is.  He demands a lot of fairy gold as a ransom, and is put under attack as soon as the fairies send the gold in.  Not really feeling very threatened, Artemis boasts that he knows how to survive the high-powered explosion the fairies want to send at Fowl Manor.  Boasts or not, Artemis compromises and sends out the fairy gold with the fairy he kidnapped, who's name,  by the way, is Holly.  The fairies have a big problem still, and it's name is Artemis Fowl.  He can hack into the fairy computers, he can speak their language, he knows all their rules.  Overall, that is not good.  So they try to explode him anyway, erasing his house and butler, Butler, and everything in or around Fowl Manor, from time itself.  (Just a note, it's been a while since I read this, so this one part may not have happened, but something similar did for sure.)  True to his bragging, Artemis knew how to survive, and he gives the fairies a run for their money in the future, sometimes teaming up with the fairies, sometimes fighting with them.  Their adventures, in short version, are: (Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident) Going to Russia to save Artemis Senior.  (Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code) Putting a super-computer that knows about fairies into the hands of an evil genius and trying to get it back.  (Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception) Defeating an evil fairy genius, (What's up with all the evil genius'?  Good thing the fairies have Artemis and a super smart centaur named Foaly on their side).  (Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony) Capturing, then saving, a little demon warlock named No1, then coming back and realizing they spent 3 years in the demon world trying to save him, and Artemis gets some siblings. (Artemis steals some magic too, but then loses it in the next book). (Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox)  Going back in time to save Artemis' mother with a monkey's brain fluid and having to out-smart younger Artemis who's trying to kill the very same monkey. And, for the last out of the books I read, but hopefully not the end of the series,  (Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex) having to defeat a new evil criminal and save Atlantis, all while Artemis is losing his mind.  Sounds fun doesn't it?  :)
