After a Recent Trip to the Library...

I went to the library a couple days ago and picked up a bunch of books.  Some of them, I've already blogged about.  Some of them I plan to blog about in the near future.  But in the meantime, I'm going to do a quick rating of some of the books, that has the title and author of the book, and then what I give it on a scale of 1- 10.

Gert Gerbaldi's Rants and Raves: One Butt Cheek at a Time by Amber Kizer (4)
This was a kind of weird book, not quite like the ones I'm used to reading, but still pretty good.  Probably for around ages 14 and up.

If I Have a Wicked Stepmother, Where's my Prince by Melissa Kantor (7)

Lemonade Mouth by Mark Hughes (8)

Confessions of a Not-It Girl by Melissa Kantor (6)

Rumors from the Boys Room by Rose Cooper (4)
This is a sequel to Gossip from the Girls Room, which I read a couple years ago.  Not bad books, they're about a girls who sneaks around the school collecting gossip and posting it anonymously on her blog.  She's not a very good role-model I guess, but the stories are full of drama in middle school.

Eggs by Jerry Spinelli (9)

Ages... I would say middle school.  There's no reason younger kids can't read it other than I don't think they would understand the story as much.

Bravely by Maggie Stiefvater

Disney, bold & brave, magical 5 stars As a huge fan of Maggie Stiefvater’s, I was to excited to receive an ARC of Bravely from Disney Books on NetGalley. After reading it I can confidently say I cannot imagine another author who would have done justice to the continuation of Merida’s story.   “Red hair, keen eyes, quick brain, built to start fires but not to put them out.” - Prologue, p. xiii Stiefvater writes in such a way that magic is an intrinsic part of every story, even when it is not fully present.  The imagery is vivid, the emotions are strong, the plot is easy to follow yet hard to predict. As Merida makes a bet with gods of old and takes on the challenge of changing her family before destruction comes for DunBroch, readers get sucked into a story about family and nature, growth and magic.  This story is also an amazing continuation of the Disney/Pixar film Brave. Reluctantly Yours by Erin Hawkins

 Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and Erin Hawkins for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review!  As always, this review is my honest opinion and can be found on my Goodreads profile as well as this blog. This story is great and the chemistry between Barrett and Chloe is a delight!  Enemies-to-lovers and fake dating are always a great combination of tropes and Erin Hawkins writes them very well. Even when we as readers have an inkling or two of how this is going to turn out in the end (it is a romance, after all), it feels fresh and exciting as we get to know the characters, their motivations, and the personalities that make them click so well.   I am a big character-driven reader and I really enjoyed reading both Chloe and Barrett's perspectives.  These character have dimensions that lend more  to  the story than just the romance, while also being delightfully attracted to each other and keeping the romance part of the book  adeq...
