Haven by Kristi Cook  (3 stars)
A slightly cliche vampire novel.  Interesting enough that I stuck with it, and the ending totally made it worth it.  Violet has visions.  Premonitions.  She saw her dad's death before it happened.  But when she tries to tell people about it, they get weirded out or don't believe her.  When Violet enrolls in Winterhaven school, she's surrounded by people like her.  Once she realizes what that means, she feels better about her visions.  Until she sees herself almost killing her boyfriend.  Who turns out to be a vampire.  Oh, and she's a vampire killer, it's her destiny.  This will work out well.

Mirage by Kristi Cook  (2 1/2 stars)
The sequel to Haven follows the same path as the first book.  Violet is trying to figure out how her relationship with a vampire can possibly work out, while her boyfriend Aiden is working on a serum that could possibly cure his vampire-ism.  He feels like he's getting close, but Violet keeps getting warnings that Aiden should stop taking the serum and elixir that he injects himself with whenever needed, to dull the side effects of being a vampire, such as his craving for blood.  Not to mention a Vampire Stalker is on the loose.  Some think it may be a fake vampire, some think. . . well that it could be Aiden.  But Violet is determined to prove everyone wrong.
