Dear Pen Pal by Heather Vogel Frederick

The third book in the Mother Daughter book club is about writing as well as reading.  The girls have pen pals from a mother daughter book in Wyoming, and they're all reading Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster.  Not all the girls like having a pen pal.  Everyone writes though.  Jess writes to her pen pal about her new school, Colonial Academy, and about her mean dorm partner, Savannah Sinclair.  Cassidy writes about her stepfather and her soon to be baby brother or sister.  Cassidy also gets into an argument with her mother, so they go to the family shrink as Cassidy calls him.  He makes Cassidy write letters to the baby, on top of letters to her pen pal.  No more writing please!!  Emma on the other hand loves writing and is getting along perfectly with her pen pal.  Megan's pen pal loves to sew, and Megan is excited.  Until she finds out that her pen pal sews quilts.  Becca has a pen pal who just like her, snotty, mean and thinking she's better than everybody.  Only after last year, Becca is nicer, which makes Zoe way worse.  Since Zoe's the mayors daughter in Gopher Hole, Wyoming (Cassidy thinks Wyoming must be full of ridiculous names, because her pen pal's name is Winky, and she lives in Gopher Hole.  Sheesh.) she's a total brat, and nobody in the Wyoming book club wants her to stay in the book club.  But what can you do?  The book club girls are very busy this year with big events, mean pranks, revenge, trouble and a surprise trip!!  Read the book to find out more!!!  :)
