Otterly Irresistible by Erin Nicholas

Thank you to Erin Nicholas and Social Butterly PR for sending me an ARC of this book to read and review!  And an extra special thanks to Erin Nicholas for all the fun Otterly Irresistible goodies I got as well.

Below is my honest review, which as always can be found on my Goodreads profile.  I also posted about this book on my Instagram and Facebook pages - be sure to check out my social media accounts and follow for more book-ish content!

As I’ve come to expect with Erin Nicholas’ books, the chemistry between the main characters is off the charts. Griffin Foster has a “nothing-works-out-so-I’m-destined-to-just-be-miserable” outlook on life, while Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Landry is used to getting her way and making things work. When the two meet up in Autre, Louisiana at the Landry family weddings, sparks fly.  And continue flying when they come back into contact two months later to discover they’ll be working together until Charlie finds a more permanent position elsewhere.  There are lots of decisions to be made, and biggest of all is the will-they-won’t-they question as they pit their working relationship against their personal one. Throw in plenty of animals, some big ideas, lots of passion, and banter galore, and you’ve got an ‘otterly delightful’ story.

The Landry family hooked me in with Nicholas’ Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour (the last book of the Boys of the Bayou series and a tie-in to this one as the first of the Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series).  Turns out I love the characters even more the second time around.  As readers learn more about the main characters, previous stories are alluded to and future stories are hinted at, making readers want to explore fully all the Boys of the Bayou. This big, boisterous family is the perfect setting for Griffin’s grumpy composure as he fights against his attraction to Charlotte’s general brightness. The differences between Griffin and Charlie are also a backdrop against which the author perfectly sets their combined passions (for people, animals, and each other).

Major themes of this book include character development, finding your dreams in places you might not have considered, sexy banter, talking to animals, and opening up to new possibilities. Minor themes include silly names, lots of brainstorming, and jealous goats (it’s a thing). Highly recommend for your next romantic read!

A hot, grumpy wildlife vet . . . and otters. You’re welcome.

Otterly Irresistible, an all new opposites attract, small town romance by New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas, is available now!

Broody wildlife veterinarian Griffin Foster is done. Done trying to save the world. Done getting attached. He’s been fired twice for standing his ground and now he’s going to be content--by God--in small-town Louisiana, in a small veterinary practice, where there will only be small problems.

Quiet and boring, though? Um, no. He’s been adopted by a loud, crazy Cajun family with a tiny petting zoo for him to care for. Hey, it’s not endangered tigers at a nationally renowned zoo, but a family of otters--and all the gumbo he can eat--isn’t a bad deal.

Until she shows up. Again.

The sunny, gorgeous optimist who stole his heart--and his favorite shirt--two months ago. Who clearly hasn’t heard the word “no” enough in her life. And who is the first woman to put even a tiny crack in his don’t-get-attached wall.

Charlotte “Charlie” Landry is the new marketing consultant for the family swamp-boat tour company and petting zoo. It might not have been her plan, but she is all in, ready to grow the business. Whether the hot, grumpy vet likes it or not.

He doesn’t.

Worse, sparring with his unforgettable one-night stand is more fun than he’s had in a long time.

But watching wears-designer-dresses Charlie find her dream job amongst a bunch of goats, alpacas, and otters is a surprise.

And her helping him find his passion again is...well, irresistible.

Dammit.
