I love the message of this soulmate story. Being stuck in the dark, unable to see the other person, Veronica and Sam are relying on each other to get out of the cave. But more than that, they are building up trust and a foundation, one that might never have existed above the surface. For these two, darkness doesn’t blind but rather illuminates as they learn more and more about each other. Even in the darkness, they see who each truly is. It is so unbearably sweet. And leaves you dreading the moment they inevitably make their way out of the cave. 

With plenty of tense moments and harrowing escapes, the author keeps readers on their toes.  There is plenty of danger in the cave, and eventually the danger is emotional as well as physical. This story had me holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed for these soulmates, and I cannot wait to read what happens next in Romeo!
