Actress Raquel Ezra finds herself in small town Green Valley, Tennessee, for the second time since her friend Sienna’s wedding there five years prior. And just like last time, one man keeps catching her eye… a certain sheriff’s deputy, Jackson James. While Raquel takes a break from the craziness and demands of her Hollywood lifestyle, she also takes a better look at her one-and-done rule to leave people wanting more. Jackson’s also examining his personal rules as Raquel inadvertently tempts him off his new path towards settling down. There is no romance like a small town romance. Everyone being in each other’s business, the couple being pulled to each other by chemistry and violently shoved together by everyone, the character development that comes when a city girl gets a breath of fresh air, the country boy more than happy to sweep her off her feet… what could be better? Raquel and Jackson are so cute the heart eyes practically radiate off the pages, and the fact that all they want is what’s best for each other is the sweetest thing. Not to mention their witty banter and chemistry that’s hotter than the Tennessee sun.

Penny Reid does a great job of setting the scene, introducing the cast, and making everything else seem like it just magically falls into place. I felt like I was watching a movie with how descriptive the story is, and the personal thoughts and unique voice in the narration of the characters adds to that feeling. The quotes in the beginning of each chapter are a great touch as well.

Overall this is a very fun, sweet (and sexy) read. Easily binge-able, with characters that hook you in and a town you never want to leave, this is one you want to have on your TBR.
